Car Slams Into Fuel Tanker

A driver slammed into the back of a fuel tanker in Dallas Thursday morning.

Dallas firefighters responded to the crash that happened at Singleton Boulevard and Westmoreland Road at about 3:15 a.m.

Dallas police say a loaded 18-wheeler fuel tanker was traveling westbound on Singleton when a Nissan Sentra slammed into the rear of the tanker.

The person driving the car was trapped inside the wreckage until firefighters rescued the driver.

The truck driver escaped without injury.

The tanker had four chambers of gasoline and one diesel, but no fuel leaked from the tanker. Hazmat crews responded to the crash as precaution.

Authorities are trying to determine the cause of the crash.

Officials are working to get the fuel tanker off the road.
