Car Found Submerged in a Richardson Creek

Richardson police say it appears a man whose body was found in a car submerged in Prairie Creek Park may have died in a single-car crash.

Police were called at around 9:30 a.m. Tuesday when someone saw a car in a creek near W. Prairie Creek Drive and W. Lookout Drive. Inside officers found an adult Hispanic male.

Richardson police Sgt. Kevin Perlich said according to the preliminary investigation, it looks like the driver was heading down W. Lookout Drive and didn't see the T in the road and went through Prarie Creek West Drive and into a wooded area where he crashed into the creek.

Foul play is not suspected; police said it appears the man's injuries are from the car wreck.

Investigators said the crash could have taken place anytime from late Monday night to a few hours before they received the call about the car in the creek.
