A two-vehicle traffic accident in Central Texas has killed a sister and a brother who attended Texas Tech University and were headed home for the weekend.
The Texas Department of Public Safety on Monday identified the victims as 20-year-olds Kylie and Ryan Murphy of Round Rock.
Trooper Robbie Barrera says Kylie Murphy, who would have turned 21 next month, was driving during Friday night's wreck near Oakalla.
Barrera says the car was southbound on U.S. 183 when the wheels left the road, Kylie Murphy overcorrected and the vehicle skidded into the path of an oncoming pickup truck. DPS says the truck driver suffered injuries not believed to be life-threatening.
Counselors were available Monday at Texas Tech. A university spokesman in Lubbock declined to release details on the siblings.
