Boyfriend of Christina Morris Faces Federal Drug Charge

The boyfriend of missing North Texas woman Christina Morris has been indicted in a federal drug case police say is unrelated to Morris' disappearance.

Over the weekend Dallas police rounded up 15 alleged drug dealers, including 23-year-old Hunter Foster.

Foster is charged with one count of conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance after an investigation into alleged drug activity at Eternal Eden Afterhours nightclub, located on Reeder Road in northwest Dallas.

When reached by phone Tuesday night, Foster’s attorney told NBC 5, "We do not have a statement at this time."

Foster’s mother told NBC 5 she will support her son, but had no other comment.

And in an interview on Tuesday night, Christina Morris' stepmother, Anna Morris, told NBC 5 that the family does not believe that Foster is connected to Morris' disappearance.

"I guess my concern is that it will take away from some of the focus on us finding Christina," Anna Morris said.

Christina Morris was last seen Aug. 30 walking into a parking garage at a Plano shopping center.

NBC 5 interviewed Foster several weeks after his girlfriend vanished. In that interview, he said he felt some responsibility for Morris’ disappearance because he was not with her the night she vanished.

Foster's criminal history shows several drug possession convictions dating back to 2009. This latest charge stems from an undercover investigation that started in the summer after a 19-year-old woman died from an overdose at the Eternal Eden Afterhours, where police say drugs were prevalent throughout the club.

“The investigation led detectives to two nightclubs operating from the same building where drugs appear to be bought, sold and consumed on a regular basis,” said Deputy Chief Vernon Hale, with the Dallas Police Department.

During the roundup, police found two guns and a several drugs including cocaine, mollies and Xanax. Police are still looking for more people connected to this drug ring.

Foster was transferred from the Dallas County Jail to the Kaufman County Jail at the request of federal investigators, according to a staff member at the Kaufman County Jail.

If Foster is convicted, he could receive a maximum of 20 years in federal prison and a $1 million fine.
