Boy, 5, Dies After Being Accidentally Shot by Brother

Dallas police say a 7-year-old boy accidentally shot by his 13-year-old brother on Saturday has died.

According to police, the boys were dropped off at a home on the 1800 Maryland Avenue where, while inside, they found a handgun.

Police said, at this time, it appears the teen then accidentally shot his younger brother.

The boy was taken to Children's Medical Center in serious condition, but died Monday evening.

The homeowner was in another room when the shooting took place.

Tuesday morning, Dallas police said the investigation is ongoing and that they have not determined what charges, if any, will be filed.

In the initial report, the 7-year-old boy's age was reported to be 5-years-old.
