Body of Missing War Vet Earl Davis Found in Parker County Creek

Davis' body found inside overturned car

The body of 85-year-old Earl Davis, missing since early October, was found Tuesday in Parker County, according to a report in the Star-Telegram.

Davis' car was found overturned in a creek off of Interstate 20 about five miles west of Weatherford, the paper reports.

Dustin Hamscher told the paper he was passing the area and saw some old tire tracks leading to the creek. Hamscher decided to have a look and that's when he spotted Davis' car.

Davis, a World War II Veteran of the U.S. Navy, was a father of four and a creature of habit. He went to Larry's 7 & 10 Grocery, about half a mile from his Haltom City home, every day for 12 years to buy lottery tickets.

He was there Oct. 7 -- that was the last time anyone ever saw Davis.

Family members said he was of sound mind, but did have a heart condition.

Funeral arrangements have not yet been revealed.

NBC 5's Lindsay Wilcox contributed to this report.
