Body Found in Shallow Oak Cliff Grave

Police searching area off Persimmon Road for clues

Dallas police are investigating the discovery of a badly decomposed body found in a shallow grave in Oak Cliff.

A Dallas Code Enforcement officer found the body at about noon in a wooded area off Persimmon Road not far from Simpson-Stuart Road and Interstate 45 on Friday.

Officers investigating the saw signs of additional digging and brought in cadaver dogs. After a search by several dogs, no additional bodies were discovered.

The body was taken to the medical examiner's office for an autopsy to determine the cause of death, police said.

Residents in the area said they were shocked.

"I think it is a horrific crime that happened over here," Patricia Alexander sadi. "I have been a resident here for 30 long years, never seen nothing like this."
