Bluebonnets in Bloom: Texans Grab the Cameras and Head Out

The bluebonnets aren't in full bloom quite yet, but that didn't stop families and friends from spending Easter snapping photographs along the Ennis Bluebonnet Trails

This year, estimated peak time in the Ennis area is the second week of April, according to the current Bluebonnet Trail map posted on the Ennis Convention and Visitor's Bureau website. Still, plenty of people headed out early including a group of friends from Dallas who now plan to make it an annual tradition.

"We're all neighbors and we do our best to spend every major holiday together," said Kim Wisdom.

While some in the group have experienced the Bluebonnet Trails before, it's the firs time for Wisdom.

"Just wonderful, this is actually believe it or not being a native Texan, this is my first time out actually experiencing the bluebonnets here."

She went on to say, "not the first time I have seen a bluebonnet, but it's the first time I've laid within them and they're just absolutely beautiful. It can't get any more Texan than this."
