Bikers From the Twin Peaks Shootout Seek Return of Personal Items

An attorney for six bikers arrested after the deadly 2015 Twin Peaks shootout in Waco is asking a judge to appoint a court officer to oversee the return of more than 1,000 items seized from almost 200 bikers who went to jail.

A petition filed by attorney Paul Looney says the items being sought include "wallets, cellular phones, vehicles, clothing, identification and other papers, firearms, knives, tools, chains, belt buckles, shoes, boots and money."

The Waco Tribune-Herald reports that Looney asked District Court Judge Vicki Menard Wednesday to assign a special master to supervise the return of the belongings and "make order out of all this chaos."

Nine people were killed and 20 others were injured in the shooting outside the Twin Peaks restaurant. Only one case out of 155 bikers who were indicted in the aftermath went to trial, and that ended in a mistrial.
