Big Spring Remains Determined to be Male

Remains found in a pasture Tuesday

Authorities in West Texas say a medical examiner has determined that remains found near an airport are male.

Big Spring Police Sgt. Tony Everett said Friday that more information will be released as the autopsy continues.

The FBI started collecting and analyzing evidence after some workers found the remains in a pasture Tuesday.

The determination of the gender ends speculation that it was the body of a 13-year-old girl who's been missing 15 months. Hailey Dunn went missing in Colorado City, about 40 miles east of Big Spring.

The unidentified remains were found a mile from the home of the mother of the person of interest in the case, the boyfriend of the teen's mom.

No one has been arrested in Hailey's disappearance. Her picture has been on 100 billboards.
