Big-Rig Righted After Toppling on I-30

Crash cleared, lanes opened around 9 a.m.

A trucker heading westbound on Interstate 30 near Zion Road in Garland lost control and tipped over around 3:45 a.m. Tuesday, blocking traffic for hours.

Garland police say the trucker sideswiped a guardrail, causing him to lose control.

Police had to close the highway while cleared the scene. The road was expected to open by 8 a.m., but it was 9 a.m. before two lanes were opened to traffic.

The Texas Department of Transportation said repairs will need to be made to the guardrail and that may result in more lane closures at that time.

The driver, who was heading into Fort Worth from Memphis, was not injured in the crash.
