Bedford Man Ambushed, Crowned During Commute

TRE Celebrates 20-Millionth Passenger

A Bedford man's morning commute became an unexpected celebration Thursday as Trinity Rail Express crowned him their 20-millionth passenger.

Tim Clark seemed speechless with surprise as he was greeted with a huge bundle of shiny balloons and presented with a big, red and gold crown with matching baton.

The crowning ceremony, which was part of the rail line's recognition of a growing ridership, took place at about 6:30 a.m. at the CentrePort/DFW Airport Station in Fort Worth.

The TRE, a joint service of DART and The T, began on Dec. 30, 1996, and runs between Dallas and Fort Worth.
