Police said they three men are in custody in connection with a home invasion burglary in Rowlett, where two of the men were wounded by the homeowner.
Rowlett police said a female caller reported two males entered the home in the 7200 block of Mercurys Road by force and began shooting just before noon. A male homeowner returned gunfire.
The female received non-life-threatening injuries when she dove through a window and ran from the home to escape the shooting. She was treated and released from a local hosptial.
Police said by the time officers arrived the two home invaders ran from the scene.
Shortly after the shooting, police said a man — later identified as 22-year-old Ty Gray — arrived at a hospital seeking medical treatment for a gunshot wound to the torso. He was taken to surgery.
Another man — identified as 31-year-old Joshua Hixson — told Rockwall County Sheriff’s deputies he had been shot at a convenience store. He was transported to a Dallas hospital where he underwent surgery for a gunshot to the torso and arm.
Rowlett police said they arrested Hixson and Gray and charged them with burglary of a habitation with intent to commit felony. Bond for each man was set at $100,000.00.
