Police Surround Fort Worth Bank After Burglary Attempt

Fort Worth police said they searched a bank after a reported burglary attempt Tuesday morning, but found no one inside.

Officers responded to a burglary call at the BBVA Compass bank in the 8800 block of Camp Bowie West Boulevard at about 5 a.m., according to authorities.

Initial reports indicated that three men were inside the bank using a blow torch to access the ATM.

Police said the responding officers heard a banging noise inside the location. A SWAT team was called in to assist as officers surrounded the bank just after 6 a.m.

There is a North Texas connection to an investigation that could change the perception of history’s most famous dinosaur.

Police said they searched and secured the bank at about 7:45 a.m.

Parts of Camp Bowie Boulevard near the bank were closed to traffic until about 7:30 a.m.

No further details have been released.
