Arlington Standoff Forces Evacuations

Police in Arlington ended a standoff that lasted for hours late Saturday with the arrest of one man, William Trevon Caraway.

Officers evacuated several apartment units earlier in the night after responding to a report of a an active shooter who may be barricaded in a home.

It happened around 8 p.m. in the 3000 block of Little Brook Lane in far east Arlington. That's near Park Row and state Highway 360. Police told NBC DFW that 8-10 apartment units were evacuated.

At a briefing shortly before 9:30 p.m., police said two men (a current and former boyfriend) were fighting over a woman. A shot was fired by one of the men who then went back inside the apartment and refused to come out.

Police took Caraway into custody after 11:00 p.m. No one was reported injured.

Arlington police said Caraway is charged with Aggravated Assault Against a Public Servant. He also had warrants for his arrest in Irving and Tarrant County. His bond is $26,154.
