Arlington Man Finalist For Title of Nation's Top Chop Griller

We all know Texas is tops when it comes to beef. Now, with your help, we can also be home to the nation’s β€œTop Chop Griller.”

Stephen Radford, who lives in Arlington, is one of eight finalists in a nationwide pork chop contest organized by the National Pork Board.

He beat out more than 6,000 other competitors with his own special pork chop recipe. He said the key to a great pork chop is to marinate it the night before you grill it and to not overcook it.

β€œI usually mix A1 Steak Sauce into the marinade so it soaks in the flavor,” said Radford. β€œIt sets it apart from a lot of other people. Instead of putting it on afterward, we put it on beforehand.”

Radford needs votes to win.  Those who vote, for any recipe, will be automatically entered to win $2,000 in prizes. Votes are being tallied until June 13 at porkbeinspired.com.
