Residents in Arlington hoping for a housing voucher can begin applying Tuesday at 8 a.m., but only online.
The Housing Choice Voucher program is a rental assistance program funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. The Housing Choice Voucher program assists very low income families, the elderly, and the disabled to afford decent, safe, and sanitary housing.
After a mob scene in Dallas in July where thousands of people rushed to get in line, some cities are changing how people may apply for the vouchers. If you want to get on Arlington's waiting list, which had about 3,000 people on it last year, you'll have to apply online.
