Arlington Drops Commuter Buses to Downtown

A North Texas city has decided to end its bus service to downtown Fort Worth amid financial concerns.

The Arlington City Council has voted to drop the transportation offering due to lack of public funding, plus low ridership.

The council voted Tuesday to discontinue the service, operated by the Fort Worth Transportation Authority, effective Sept. 30.

The Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports frequent riders will be set up in van pools for the same fare, $5 a day or $50 a month.
