Arlington Crash Claims One

First Fatal Accident of Arlington in 2012

An early morning collision claimed the life of a 35 year old driver from Arlington early Sunday.

According to police, Kolawole Grando, 35, died when his Toyota Camry was rear-ended by a Dodge Ram truck.  It happened around 2 a.m. in the 700 block of Interstate 20. 

Witnesses told police the Camry suddenly stopped on the highway with no lights on.  It's not clear why the car stopped. One car avoided hitting the Camry but the truck was unable to swerve away.  The driver of the pickup had no serious injuries.

Police tell NBCDFW this is the first traffic fatality in Arlington in 2012.
