Arlington Conducts DWI No-Refusal Operation Over Spring Break

Campaign runs through St. Patrick's Day

Arlington police will conduct a DWI "No-Refusal" operation during Spring Break, from Monday through March 17.

The department made the announcement Monday morning.

During no-refusal periods, officers will obtain search warrants for blood samples for any driver stopped for suspicion of driving while intoxicated if they refuse to provide a breath specimen.

"Arlington Police believe traffic crashes related to intoxicated drivers can be preventable if drivers make the right decision. Plan your festivities this spring break beforehand and know how you will safely get home. Designate a sober driver. Your life or someone else's may just depend on it," the department said in a news release.

Arlington police also encourage motorists to report possible intoxicated drivers by calling 911.
