Argyle Company Gives Screen Time to Pope on U.S. Trip

With many eyes on Washington, D.C., next week, a North Texas company hopes to make their mark during a big event.

Argyle-based GoVision will provide and operate the six mobile LED screens which will be used to broadcast Pope Francis's visit to the nation's capitol to the National Mall outside of Congress.

Company leaders have been preparing for the event by assembling some of the custom screens they'll transport by truck and oversee during the event.

"We're extremely excited to be a part of it," said GoVision Vice President Scott McKinnon.

The company started small in Argyle about 13 years ago providing mostly festival screens.

Since then, they'll grown to one of the largest such providers in their industry working events like March Madness, 14 PGA golf tournaments, and multiple presidential inaugurations.

These days, GoVision is also designing many specialized LED setups and innovating beyond the usual "standard" screen setup.

All while most never even see them.

The company operates quietly out of a small warehouse park off 35W, and McKinnon said they're really doing their job best when nobody sees them at work.

"We want to be unnoticeable, let's put it that way," he said with a laugh. "We want him (the Pope) focused on what he's there to do and we're just going to add to the environment for the spectators."

Leaders from GoVision will leave early next week to make the trip.
