Anti-Bullying Campaign Expands to Workplace Harassment

Fort Worth ISD hopes effort speaks to both generations

The Fort Worth school district is educating both students and staff how to stop bullying and harassment.

The Fort Worth Independent Schol District is building on a campaign it started a couple of years ago in the classroom. The district hopes the campaign speaks to both generations.

"So, our employees are able to thrive and perform well in their workplace and when they do that, then our students perform well, and they thrive," district spokesman Clint Bond said.

Part of "It's Not Okay At Any Age" includes a 17-minute video that illustrates bullying in both the classroom and the workplace. The video, which will be shown to staff at professional development seminars, addresses issues such as sabotage, intimidation and verbal abuse.

Like many corporate training videos, it presents what not to do and what to do.

"What we're talking is that respect, integrity, civility -- those are non-negotiable things here at Fort Worth ISD communities," Bond said.
