Another Wildfire Breaks Out at Fort Hood Range

A grass fire on a Fort Hood range has burned more than 3 square miles but nobody has been hurt and no structures were damaged.

Fort Hood spokesman Tyler Broadway said Monday that the fire did not gain any acreage overnight.

Authorities at the Central Texas post say the fire was discovered Sunday morning at the Browns Creek range. Broadway says the fire does not pose a danger to homes or any other buildings. Officials are trying to determine what sparked the blaze.

Grass fires last week at Fort Hood burned nearly 2 square miles on two ranges. No structure damage or injuries were reported.

Fort Hood is about 70 miles north of Austin.
