Another Battle Rages at Historic Alamo

The group that cares for the Alamo has expelled two members in a months-old dispute over the best way to run the 18th-century mission.

The Daughters of the Republic of Texas, in a news release, say the action ends a "distracting and negative event."

Erin Bowman and Dianne MacDiarmid of San Antonio declined comment Monday. Bowman told the San Antonio Express-News that they are "trying to decide where we're going from here."

Bowman, who formerly led a $60 million capital campaign for the Daughters, earlier this year created the Alamo Endowment to raise money for preservation and educational programs.

Bowman claimed the Daughters do not have the financial savvy to ensure the stability of the historic mission.
