AmTRAN Recalls JVC TV Stands

AmTRAN is recalling nearly 27,000 JVC television stands because of faulty assemblies that can crack and tip over unexpectedly.

Consumers with JVC 42-inch Model EM42FTR televisions with serial numbers beginning with the letter T should detach their television immediately and contact AmTRAN for a replacement part. Model and serial numbers are located on the bottom left on the back of the television.

Customers should contact AmTRAN at 855-328-6650 8 a.m.-5 p.m. ET weekdays or JVC at www.JVC-tv.com and click on the safety notice tab at the bottom of the page.

JVC officials said customers reported several cracked stands, but no injuries.

This model television was sold by BJ's Wholesale, Costco Wholesale, Sam's Club, Walmart, and other retail stores nationwide from February through August 2014.

Hazard: the neck of the stand can crack and cause the television to tip over unexpectedly, posing a risk of impact injury to the consumer.
