Allen High School Band to Perform at Tournament of Roses Parade

Allen High School is no stranger to the national spotlight.

The football team has not lost a game in three years and won the national championship in 2014.

In January, the Allen Eagle Escadrille will be on the national stage.

The group will perform at the Tournament of Roses on January 1, 2016 in Pasadena.

"As far as an undertaking, it has been incredible. It is all going to pay off on January 1 when we're on national TV," said Allen High Band Director Blane Hinton. "I kind of lead the charge, but basically they run the show."

More than 700 students will make the trip to southern California.

The cost per student is $1,600. Hinton says the total cost for the trip will be $1.2 million.

"It takes an army to put this together," Hinton said.
