AT&T Stadium Inspires Kids Beyond Football; Arlington ISD Promotes Art

Inspiring is a word you'll hear people use as they describe what it's like to be inside AT&T Stadium, and that goes beyond football.

A unique partnership between the Dallas Cowboys and the Arlington Independent School District has made Jerry World into a muse of sorts for budding artists.

"I think the goal here is to really make people aware that art exists in the world," Arlington ISD Visual Arts coordinator Linh Nguyen said. "So the stadium is a great place for our kids to experience not only a stadium, but a world class art collection."

With the support of the Jones Family Foundationm, every Arlington ISD fifth-grader gets to visit AT&T Stadium and take a guided tour that showcases all the artwork inside.

Once the students return to their classrooms, they begin creating their own artwork inspired by what they saw on the tour. At the end of the school year, they get to display their artwork inside AT&T Stadium at a special reception hosted by the Jones family.

"What the Cowboys have done for our kids is give them hope that the world is their classroom and that they're able to excel in what they want to do if they reach for the stars," said Nguyen.

The program made its debut during the 2015-2016 school year. In a statement, Jean Jones said she hopes it will become "a great legacy program for Arlington fifth graders for many years to come."
