80-Year-Old Woman Cited For Crashing Into City Bus

Police say an 80-year-old Beaumont woman who crashed into a city bus in an accident that injured 10 people has been cited for running a red light.

The accident Wednesday resulted in the bus crashing into a house. Police said on Thursday that the investigation into the crash was complete and that the woman had been cited.

Officer Neil Mireles told The Beaumont Enterprise that both drivers and eight of the 13 bus passengers were taken to the hospital, but none of the injuries appeared serious.

Bus passenger Kathaline Loftin said that the woman's car hit the back side of the bus, causing the bus driver to lose control and run into the house.
