Texas Game Wardens have confirmed that an 7-year-old child is dead after drowning in Lavon Lake on Thursday.
The incident happened between 2 and 3 p.m. near Collin Park.
Officials said the boy was in a designated swim area.
No other details have been released at this time.
Editors Note: Texas Game Wardens first told NBC 5 that the child was 8. They have since clarified that he is in fact 7.
