700 Pound Woman Asks For Help

A diabetic woman who weighs at least 700 pounds needs help but is unable to leave her home. She can't get up to use the restroom without assistance and excess weight prevents her from wearing a medical boot on her broken ankle. Her foot is too swollen to get the boot on.

Various nursing homes have turned away Ferguson despite the fact that she has medical coverage.

“That’s the worst thing I could ever imagine,” Ferguson told KTVT. “Because why would it need to be that way? If there’s not a cure, you know what I’m saying, don’t just let someone lie there and die. So I’ve asked them about rehabilitation. But there’s too much red tape. But when it boils down to it, it wasn’t red tape, it was my size.”

For now, Ferguson stays inside her trailer in northwest Tarrant County -- hoping and praying that someone will offer some assistance.
