Arrests Made After 50 Keller ISD Buses Vandalized, Put Out of Service

Police said the suspects are facing charges of felony criminal mischief

Four people were arrested after six school buses at Keller ISD were vandalized early Monday, police said.

Fort Worth police released the names of the suspects Monday afternoon.

They are Shawn Michael Terhune, 19, Robert Austin Whitehead, 19, Alonso Michael Rivera, 24 and Tarron Taggart, 27.

Some buses were unable to pick up students Monday morning, police said.

Officers responded about 5:20 a.m. to Fossil Ridge High School, located in the 4100 block Thompson Road, for a criminal mischief call, police said.

Texas Sky Ranger was able to see doors on some buses broken in and one bus was missing the emergency exit hatches on the roof. On the ground, NBC 5 crews could see technicians changing tires on some of the buses as well.

"They destroyed tires, they destroyed radiators... they destroyed the actual pull out stop sign on the bus which alerts cars as they pass by," said Tracy Carter, with Fort Worth Police Department.

Carter said that a Keller ISD school bus driver saw the suspects while she was on the way to work early in the morning. She reported the suspects to security and police.

Police said the suspects are facing felony criminal mischief charges.

Keller ISD said it did not expect any school bus delays Tuesday morning.

NBC 5's Lexie Houghtaling and Tim Ciesco contributed to this report.
