Fire crews were called to the Solana Ridge Apartments in the 8000 block of Chariot Drive, off South Buckner Boulevard at 1:33 a.m., 2:17 a.m. and 3:17 a.m. Tuesday.

“They took the radio out, burnt the seats,” said Brandi Smith, whose car was damaged, “I think they got to my car in time to catch it, but you can see how it’s burnt and all the windows is gone.”

Smith says her van is her only way to get to work, and she doesn’t have insurance.

“It’s frustrating, it’s upsetting,” Smith said.

“Cars are people reliability to get around, if you’re working and you come outside and see this,” Smith said, “Now, how are you supposed to get to work – a day worth of pay is gone.”

Dallas Fire Rescue is conducting the investigation, but Dallas Police Air One tweeted an aerial photo with this message: “Arsonist burning cars this morning at apartments on South Buckner, be diligent of suspicious activity.”

No injuries were reported.
