North Texas High Schools Named America's Best

U.S. News & World Report releases annual education report

Four North Texas high schools are among 100 of America's best, according to U.S. News & World Report.

The magazine surveyed more than 21,000 public high schools in 48 states and the District of Columbia.

The Dallas Independent School District's School for the Talented and Gifted at Yvonne A. Ewell Townview Center ranks No. 5 and the School of Science and Engineering Magnet comes in at No. 8.

Highland Park High School is No. 71 on the list and the Fort Worth Academy of Fine Arts is No. 91.

The magazine said the report's goal is to provide a picture of how well public schools serve students and prepare them for college-level work.
