3.1 Magnitude Earthquake in Texas Panhandle, Near Amarillo

Parts of the Texas Panhandle had some unexpected shaking from a 3.1 magnitude earthquake.

The U.S. Geological Survey reports the quake was recorded at 6:39 p.m. CST Sunday and was centered about 9 miles northeast of Amarillo.

The Carson County Sheriff's Office on Monday had no immediate reports of anyone hurt or damages related to the earthquake.

The Potter County Sheriff's Office didn't immediately provide information.
