Three of six people suspected in a drug distribution ring operating out of Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport appeared in federal court Wednesday morning.
Vilisolo Lamipeti went through a hearing with more than 30 friends and relatives in attendance. His attorney asked the judge to release Lamipeti, who would return his mother's house and live with his family.
Prosecutors called an FBI agent that had been involved in the undercover operation since it began in 2011.
In the end, the judge said that there were no conditions presented that would assure the safety of the community. Lamipeti went back to jail without bail.
Two other suspects — Luke Lamipeti and Tony Ruvalcaba — waved the right for a detention hearing and also went back to jail without bail.
Three more suspects were scheduled to appear in court Wednesday afternoon.
