3 Relatives Killed, 1 Hurt in West Texas Crash

Investigators say three relatives have been killed and another critically hurt in a West Texas rollover crash.

The Texas Department of Public Safety said three people in the SUV died at the scene Tuesday afternoon near Ropesville, about 20 miles southwest of Lubbock.

DPS identified the fatalities as 42-year-old Linda Rodriguez, her 76-year-old father Angel Rodriguez and her 11-year-old daughter Jade Villeda. All are from Kress.

Investigators said Linda Rodriguez was driving when the SUV, traveling northeast on U.S. 62, went into the center median and she overcorrected. The vehicle rolled into a cotton field.

Her 76-year-old mother, Francisca Rodriguez, was listed in critical condition Wednesday at University Medical Center in Lubbock.
