A child died Wednesday afternoon after falling into a pool and drowning.
Just before noon, firefighters arrived at a home on the 4700 block of China Rose Drive, where a young boy was believed to have been underwater for several minutes.
By the time firefighters arrived, someone was performing CPR on the boy. He was transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
A family member who arrived after the incident told NBCDFW that the 3-year-old boy had jiggled open the gate and fallen in the pool.
