3 Teenage Texas Volunteer Firefighters Accused of Arson

Three teenage volunteer firefighters have been charged with torching an abandoned home in South Texas.

Investigators in Rio Hondo say two suspects were arrested a day after the Jan. 22 blaze. The third suspect was taken into custody Monday at Rio Hondo High School, where he's a student, and also charged with arson.

Two suspects are 18 years old, while the third youth is 17. Officials say all three teens responded to last week's fire.

A public safety official for Rio Hondo did not immediately return messages Tuesday about the suspects.

Cameron County's emergency management director, Humberto Barrera, says there could be more arrests. Barrera says about 10 other recent fires in the area are being reviewed.
