20 SMU Students Headed to Obama Inauguration

For the fifth time, communication and journalism students from Southern Methodist University will take part in a presidential inauguration.

Twenty students will travel to Washington, D.C. to take part in President Barack Obama's inauguration and share their adventure on Twitter and in blog posts.

The students are taking part in the festivites as part of SMU's Hilltop on the Hill program, a weeklong program sponsored by SMU's Division of Communication Studies and Journalism.

"The program allows students to meet Washington, D.C.-area alumni, public officials and communications professionals to learn what happens behind the scenes from staff ranging from the White House to Capitol Hill," the school said in a news release.

Those wishing to follow along with the students can do so on Twitter @SMUHilltop1 and at the adventures blog.
