1 Dead After Shooting Outside Fort Worth Dairy Queen

The incident happened around 5:40 p.m Saturday

Two people with gunshot wounds were found in a vehicle near a Dairy Queen in northern Fort Worth early Saturday evening, police said. Both were hospitalized, but one victim did not survive, police said.

At about 5:40 p.m., officers found the two victims and a third person, who was unharmed, inside the vehicle at 8620 N. Beach St., Fort Worth police said.

The two victims were taken to the hospital where one was pronounced dead.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner Sunday identified the man who died as 24-year-old Caleb Sims of Fort Worth. The place where the shooting occurred is listed as 4800 Eagle Trace Drive, not the location of the Dairy Queen.

Fort Worth police confirmed Sunday they believed the shooting happened on Eagle Trace Drive, before the vehicle Sims was in made its way onto N. Beach Street.

No arrests have been made.
