2 Hospitalized After Helicopter Crash in Cleburne

Pilot, passenger injured in training flight

A helicopter pilot and passenger on a training flight were injured after a crash in Cleburne Friday afternoon.

The helicopter came down on the ramp near a hangar at the Cleburne Municipal Airport at about 2:20 p.m.

The owner of the helicopter, Rick Segerstrom, said his son was on a training flight with an instructor when they lost control and crashed.

Both the pilot and passenger were transported to Harris Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth with non life-threatening injuries.

The helicopter, a two-seat 1967 Schweitzer 269-A, had recently been refurbished and had passed it's annual inspection, Cleburne officials said.

The Texas Department of Public Safety and Federal Aviation Administration are investigating.
