2 Earthquakes Rattle North Texas

The U.S. Geological Survey has confirmed two earthquakes rattled North Texas this weekend.

The USGS reported that a 2.3-magnitude quake was recorded at 5:19 a.m. Saturday near Farmers Branch. The quake was estimated to be four miles north-northeast of Irving.

Another 2.1-magnitude earthquake was recorded at 12:40 a.m. early Sunday estimated at about four miles northwest of Irving.

No injuries or major damage were reported.

A 4.0-magnitude earthquake centered about 30 miles southwest of Dallas was recorded May 7. Experts said that quake was the sharpest ever detected in North Texas.
