Dallas police said Josie Nicole Schlosser, of Mesquite, left her disabled 2008 Black Honda Accord on the left shoulder and tried to cross the freeway on foot at about 7:10 p.m.

The driver of a 2006 Dodge 2500 silver pickup did not see Schlosser crossing and struck her, according to police. She was then struck a second time by a 2010 Chevy Camaro. Both drivers stopped at the scene and do not face charges.

Police said Schlosser was pronounced dead at the scene.

Engineers with the Texas Department of Transportation were called to evaluate the Greenville Avenue bridge, which was struck in one of the crashes.

Several lanes of eastbound I-635 were blocked during the investigation.

NBC 5's Todd L. Davis contributed to this report.
