2 Lawmakers Investigating Regent Took Free Texas-OU Tickets

Two lawmakers investigating a University of Texas System regent over his battles with Austin campus President Bill Powers attended the Texas-Oklahoma football game with free tickets provided by Powers' office.

The University of Texas has long offered free football tickets to lawmakers, including the annual showcase event at the Cotton Bowl. This year's game was played while House lawmakers investigate whether Regent Wallace Hall abused the authority of his governor-appointed position to undermine Powers and potentially get him fired.

Hall's attorney questioned whether Reps. Eric Johnson and Four Price could be impartial after accepting the tickets. They are among eight members of the state committee investigating whether to impeach Hall.

Johnson declined comment. Price did not respond to interview requests.
