A toddler has drowned after being found unresponsive in a bathtub Friday afternoon in Wilmer, fire officials say.
Emergency crews were called at about 4 p.m. to the 200 block of Billy Wickliffe Drive, where they began CPR efforts on the 18-month-old girl before transporting her to Methodist Charlton Medical Center.
The girl's mother said she just stepped away for a second before returning to find the girl, according to fire officials.
Wilmer police and the Texas Child Protective Services Division will investigate.
