A 17-year-old was with family members at Grapevine Lake on Thursday when he drowned.
The Grapevine Fire Department said around 3:15 p.m., the teen was swimming with family, but was not wearing a life jacket and went under water. This happened on the northeast side of the lake, near Rockledge Park.
Grapevine Fire already had a team on the lake due to the holiday, making the response from the dive team quick.
The teen's body was located just after 4 p.m. Rescue crews took the teenager to Baylor Grapevine, where he was pronounced dead.
