15-Year-Old Dies in Garland Park Shooting

A 15-year-old has died following injuries in a shooting Friday evening at a park in Garland.

Police were called at about 5 p.m. Friday to Baylor Scott & White Medical Center-Garland for a teenager who had been shot.

The teen was taken by CareFlight to Children's Hospital in Dallas. Saturday morning, police announced he died from his injuries.

Detectives said the teen was involved in a disturbance at Embree Park in the 1500 block of Dairy Road when he was shot in the head.

Witnesses reportedly took the teen to the hospital.

Police are still unsure what led to the shooting and ask anyone who has information to contact the Garland Police Department.
