120th Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo Begins Friday

The 120th edition of the legendary Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo kicks off Friday.

A record 31,160 entries — including 11,683 youths — from 44 states will compete in the event, which runs through Feb. 3.

More than 1,200 professional rodeo athletes entered the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association rodeo, competing for more than $700,000 in purse money.

Fort Worth Stock Show's "All Western Parade" at 11 a.m. Saturday in Downtown Fort Worth.

The Stock Show Parade, held on the first Saturday of the show, begins at 11 a.m. Saturday in Downtown Fort Worth. The parade starts at the intersection of Weatherford and Main streets and ends near Houston and Bluff streets.

The Stock Show is Fort Worth's largest annual event, with more than 1,000,000 visitors each year. It's also one of the oldest livestock shows in the country.

All profits from the Stock Show are returned to the City of Fort Worth in the form of facility improvements or used for advanced education
