Dallas and Richardson police responded to the shooting call at the Hillsdale Garden Apartments in the 800 block of West Spring Valley Road at 1:18 a.m. and found the victim with a gunshot wound on his leg.

Witnesses told police that a person was sprayed with a fire extinguisher during an altercation with two other men, later identified as Paul Vale and Austin Moula. The individual then called some friends to come help him and the group confronted the Vale and Moula.

During the confrontation, investigators said the 25-year-old Vale shot one of the friends in the leg. The victim then ran to the nearby apartment complex where he was found later.

Vale and Moula tried to run away, but were quickly caught and taken into custody in the parking lot of a nearby fast food restaurant, according to police.

Police said they charged Vale with aggravated assault. Moula, also 25, was arrested on unrelated charges.

The victim was transported to Medical Center Plano. His condition is not known.
