Dana Arnick Tyson told police she woke up and saw a man stabbing her husband, Stevie Tyson, at their home in the 500 block of Brenemen Street at 2:51 a.m. Police said the woman told them the man also sexually assaulted her.

Police said there were no signs of forced entry.

Stevie Tyson was transported to Baylor University Medical Center with knife wounds on his arms and legs, according to police.

Emergency responders checked Dana Tyson and then transported her to Parkland Memorial Hospital. Police said she sustained knife wounds on her arms and legs as well as facial injuries from being punched repeatedly.

Police said they arrested a man — later identified as 46-year-old Gerald Perkins — whom they found running through a nearby neighborhood and charged him with sexual assault and aggravated assault. Perkins is an ex-boyfriend of Dana Tyson, according to the police.
